Hmmm..It's true what they say that "when one door closes, another one opens".
Sometimes when we really want something, we automatically think that there's no other option. it's either what we want comes to pass or we loose everything we have ever worked for in order to achieve where we think we ought to be. When that vision we envision doesn't come to pass or rather fails, we beat our selves up over it for days, weeks and even months.
But here is the thing, one must know that if this fail, there is always another plan (like I use to say, there is always a plan B). Although, it might feel as if there isn't one but trust me there is another plan that surpasses our vision we previously envisioned earlier on. And this time, this is the plan God has set in front of us or rather what He has destined for us.
At times, we do things that we think are right because it absolutely makes sense to us to the extent that we don't even pray over it and when any those 'things' we are doing fails, we blame God about those mishaps.
Back in my homeland, I use to watch lots of TV shows and one day, I wasn't even paying attention clearly to what the scenes were all about. As this actress on screen said "Every disappointment is a blessing", it caught my attention. Meanwhile, I was still a kid and didn't know what it meant. All I was just thinking was 'Now I have a new quote that I can always use in my english essays or add to my other quotes (because I love and used to keep quotes in my brain).
Some time ago, my family and I were about to move out of our apartment because we had a plus one to our family and we thought it was best if we raised the newborn in a new environment. We had an agreement with an old man that we would move into a small apartment for a while till he finishes off the house construction (which was were we would move in a mont time). A month passed by and then two months passed by and there still hadn't been no progress concerning the house and even the little apartment we wanted to manage (as there were no furnitures in the kitchen). We later realise that this old man was playing us and just extorting money from us for no legit reason.
Meanwhile, we still had a month till we need to vacate our present apartment (because we already told the owner of our current apartment that we were moving out in three months earlier before we knew what was going on with this old man). Then we add to start looking for other options available now. We actually thought we were going to be homeless because it is nearly impossible to get a place to stay considering you have to come for visitation and then signing the contracts and then waiting for those in the house to leave the place.
Then, we saw an apartment that was better that our current one because it had an elevator and we prayed (and even fasted about it) because we already set out mind that we were going to get it. Two weeks and some days before we need to leave out place, we were told the apartment had been given to another person. This broke our heart into pieces. We didn't know what else to do. Then, we thought or at least I was thinking that God was not hearing our prayers. My parents spent days online checking for vacancies not minding how long the distance would be to our their jobs and our schools because at this point...
One day, I came back from school and I heard everyone singing, dancing shouting 'Hallelujah' and I asked what that was all about. I was told we got a new place and not only that, it was a HOUSE and even this was much more better than the apartment and a mini house we didn't get back then.
Then, this quote came back to life and I told my brother "every disappointment is a blessing". Hadn't been we have gotten that apartment in the first place, we wouldn't have seen that house or hadn't been we had been in that manageable apartment, we could have been thrown out and be told that the reconstruction can't be processed and then, we would have been in a bad state.
In conclusion, When something doesn't go our way, let's not cry ourselves over it. All we need to do is pick ourselves up and move on. Although moving on might be very difficult but try concentrating on the positive thing you have left which could eventually help you move on with your life because if you don't you could miss out on better things that are ahead of you. When we get disappointed, let's always have at the back of our mind that God has install a better plan for us.
